Suzanne Farnell's Bio

Suzanne with WindySuzanne Farnell of Woodland, Washington, began studying violin at age 14. She is currently studying with Matt Mandrones, concertmaster of the Southwest Washington Symphony.

Suzanne has performed with the Southwest Washington Symphony, Southwest Washington Chamber Orchestra, Southwest Washington Youth Philharmonic, ATI Student Orchestra and String Choir (Sacramento, CA), Sound Foundations Orchestra (Indianapolis, IN), and is a violinist at Clover Valley Community Church in Woodland, Washington.

Suzanne with a rainbow troutBesides playing violin, Suzanne is interested in conducting. She also enjoys teaching violin privately and has played piano since she was 5 years old. She took 10 years of piano lessons studying the last 7 of those years with Martin Kauble of Longview. She is currently studying piano on her own.

Currently a running start student at Lower Columbia College, Suzanne plans to do most of her college work from home with a goal of earning a B.A. in Music Education.

Suzanne on top of Terrace MountainIn addition to her many musical interests, Suzanne also enjoys working with animals, woodworking, and a wide variety of outdoor activities. She lives with her family on a small farm where she raises llamas and a few goats. Her family spends a lot of time together backpacking, fishing, caving, and downhill skiing among other things.
