Life at UPS

By Suzanne Farnell

Alright, it's been a good month since posted on my xanga so I thought it'd be okay to post again.

So I've been going to school here at the University of Puget Sound for over a month now!!! I can't believe it's been that long. Things are going well here. I'm very busy with almost an overload of classes, work, ensembles, and practicing but I'm loving the musical training I'm getting here and so far my homework hasn't been too overwhelming so I've been able to keep up in everything. And that's a realllllly long sentence but I don't feel like fixing it because I've been fixing too many sentences in my essay lately and I'm tired of making proper sentences.

I'm a music education major so I'm learning to play Bassoon right now, Oboe in a couple weeks, and .....listen up....you probably wouldn't of guessed this.....I'm also learning PERCUSSION!!! I love that class! hehe. It's a lot of fun and fairly easy which is nice. I can play snare drum pretty well now and will be learning LOTS of other percussion instruments soon. It's going to be so fun.

Violin lessons with the teacher here are going really well...right now she's basically forcing me to do the things that I've been lazy about over the past couple years. :-/ Oh and in a few weeks I get to play in a masterclass with Kenneth Goldsmith! I'm excited!

Shakespeare class is pretty cool too...we just read and talk about stories all the time. Pretty easy, pretty fun and I like the teacher which is always helpful.

My living arrangements are good too...one day soon I plan to post some pictures of where I stay. It's not that exciting but....

And....in addition to how well all of that is going, God is providing me with awesome Christian friends here on campus! It's pretty cool how He's been providing for me all through this "going to college" process.

And.....it's time for me to go to rehearsal now so I guess that's about it for now. I don't know how many people will read this anyways since it doesn't seem like ANYONE uses xanga anymore....just Facebook. Later!
