These are some of the books that I have read about water conservation. They have some excellent information that I wasn't able to find on the internet. Some of them have lots of charts and graphs and things to help you get a better picture of how important water conservation is.

Books

The Life Sustaining Resource Water - Robert Gardner
This book talks about how all living things are dependent on water. He discusses the water cycle, rainfall, droughts and floods, water purification; and other potential sources of an increased water supply, including the possible use of icebergs.

Last Oasis - Sandra Postel
In this book, Sandra Postel talks about how for decades our water has been wasted and mismanaged. She also talks about ways that we could use our water more effectively, and make every drop go farther.

Water: A Resource in Crisis - Eileen Lucas
This is a book about the earth's natural resource water, the many ways we use it, and how we can better take care of it. It suggests several ways that you as a citizen can help to preserve and conserve our water.

The Water's Journey - Eleonore Schmid
This wonderful book for children will give you a greater understanding of the water cycle and the important role it plays in supporting life on Earth.

Water - Alfred Leutscher
Alfred Leutscher explains in this book how water is vital to life, and he invites the reader to take a closer look at water in its many forms.

The Water Cycle - Joy Richardson
This book for children explains where water comes from, how we use it, and then how it is recycled and used again and again.

Wacky Water Fun With Science - Ed Sobey
In this book, you will find some awesome water experiments. Get ready for a tidal wave of hydro-powered learning.

On the Waterway - Malcolm Dixon
This book explains why water is so special and how we use it for our own needs. It also talks about water-powered wheels, aqueducts, bridges, dams, and the uses for them.

We Need Water - Helen Frost
This is a children's book about water and how it is essential to life. It also explains how we use water and gives tips for finding more information about water.

Water - What it is, What it Does - Judith S. Seixas
Earth has more water than any other planet. It is in oceans, rivers, and lakes; in icebergs and underground; in rain and snow. But less than one percent is usable. Do you know why? Read this book to find out!

The Trip of a Drip - Vicki Cobb
In this book, Vicki Cobb explains how we don't often think about where water comes from or where it goes after we use it. In this book she tells the story of the trip of the drip.

The Water We Drink - Jill Wheeler
This is an excellent book about our water and how our water is finite - we have what we have, we cannot produce more. We must take care of the water we have, since it is all we'll ever have.

Water, Water! - Tom Johnston
Science in Action! This book shows young people just how vital water and its many uses are to the world in which we live.
