Our 2003 trip to Yosemite was a great success! We had a party of seven - 3 adults and 4 kids ages five to nine. We had close to 60 pounds of food to supplement the fish we caught and we were in the backcountry for 11 days. Matthew caught the biggest fish - a 17" rainbow out of a lake over 10,000 feet elevation. We all had a great time and are looking forward to next year's adventures.

Organizing the food at Grandma's. We had dehydrated veggie/noodle soups, dehydrated coleslaw, spaghetti, bannock, hard tack, granola bars, trail mix, dried fruit, pemmican, granola, logan bread, and tea. We spent the first night at Bridalveil Creek Campground. Elizabeth and Jeremiah are getting ready to catch some trout for dinner at a nearby stream. Fishing for dinner. We made it! Camp is just around that next bend and over the ridge. Now this is a rough trail - but it makes things interesting. View from the top.

We hang our food to keep it out of the bears' and other animals' reach. Matthew starting a fire. Yummy - grilled trout for dinner. It was pretty cold out, but this fire helped keep us warm.

Me with a fat rainbow - I got sunburnt because nobody told me one side of my hat was bent up. Lunch time. Heading back to camp. Grilled trout again. Not much of a sunset compared with other years when there are forest fires going.

We found a cool monument with notes dating clear back to 1934! Note dated 1934 - and we're off trail with nobody anywhere around!
