April 24, 2004 - Cave exploring trip near Ole's B entrance.

Kim GPS # 129 (Fire Pit Shelter), 211, 212 (Next Door), 213 (Little Pine Tree), 214, 215 (Hobo), 216 (Baby Salamander), 217 (Collapsing), 186 (Arc), 218, 048, 219, 220, & 113.

Kim and Claude hiking to the lava flow. Walk In Tree Mold - this horizontal tree mold is almost high enough to walk straight in, although a little ducking is required. Another picture of the tree mold. Looking out of the tree mold. Cool formations inside the tree mold.
Bark imprints in the tree mold. More bark. More bark - picture without flash. Part way through the tree mold the ceiling has broken in making another entrance. Hiking across the moss-carpeted lava.
GPS 129 - Fire Pit Shelter Cave. Ole's B entrance. GPS 212 - This sink is right next to Ole's B entrance, and does have one small cave on the north side. Dennis called it Next Door Cave. GPS 212 - Crawl way in Next Door Cave. GPS 212 - More crawling in Next Door Cave.
Slug found in Ole's B entrance. GPS S1 - Small cave that wasn't explored. GPS 214 - Kim taking pictures. This cave has many entrances and some cool lava bridges. This lava bridge had a deer/elk trail running right across it. Pretty cool. GPS 215 - Hobo Cave - Small one-room cave.

Big sink with small surface tube on south side. GPS 168 - Arc Cave - Cave with crawl ways and hands-and-knees passages. Up to 500 ft in length. GPS 168 - Arc Cave - Emergency squeeze exit. GPS 218?
Kim keeping track of all the cave data. GPS 048 - Red formations. GPS 048 - We saw one bat in this cave. GPS 048 - More cool formations.

GPS 129 - Resting at Firepit Shelter Cave on the way out. It was a great day of exploring.
