Fire Science - Introduction

| How Fire Works | | How Heat Moves | | Flashovers | | Smoke |

Science is a very interesting subject in my mind so I thought that it would be really interesting and educational to have a section on this web site which teaches about the science of fire. When you think of fire, you probably just think of a hot flame that burns stuff. You probably don't think about how it burns stuff or how the flame comes or anything. If you go to the How Fire Works section of this site you will learn what else fire is. You can also learn how much heat has to do with fire and how it can move around a room very rapidly if you go to How Heat Moves. Another thing that is pretty interesting is Flashovers. A flashover occurs when the heat in a burning room gets so hot that the whole room bursts into flames. The fire travels through the Smoke and when it gets hot enough and smokey enough there is a flashover.
